A sales engineer sells technological or Engineering products or services to businesses. They will be generally involved in Business to business (B2B) sales. Sometimes their role is to support the sales team. Here the person can make use of his/her technical knowledge to understand the market needs better. They sometimes help the Product Development team to make better products. An ordinary sales executive will not be able to perform this job if technical knowledge is absolutely necessary.

A Software Engineer can sell a software product better to a client by explaining all the benefits.

Generally perception about sales is that “selling is easy”. But sales requires lot of patience, knowledge to the related industry,confidence and self motivating.
